Another one of those 'grab the camera and take lots of pictures of this thing going down the road' moments. Never seen one of these before so does someone want to take a guess at what it is? I know there are readers out there that know. It's just new to me.

It's called a "draper Platform" and it is used for harvesting rice and other small grain.
If you saw that part attached to the front of the combine, you'd recognize that you've seen it scores of times. You've just never seen one detached from the machine being hauled around on a trailer. So you see, it's not actually a thing unto itself--It's analogous to the blade of a bulldozer loaded on a trailer rather than attached to the front of the bulldozer.
